1/450 Scale HMS Vanguard Battleship Plastic Model Kit from Hasegawa. 150 pieces. kill level 3. Ages 14+. Launched in November, 1944, the H.M.S. Vanguard (23) was the biggest, fastest battleship in the Royal Navy's Fleet. Often regarded as the world's final completed battleship, her history is just as incredible as her size and speed. While she wasn't completed in time for WWII, this versatile craft did act as a training ship and a flagship for the Royal Navy Reserve Fleet. Her guns were not her own - they were recycled from notable WWI and WWII-era ships such as the Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Sovereign. Ironically, these guns were never fired in combat. After nearly two decades honorably serving her Queen and Country, the H.M.S. Vanguard was sold for scrap in August, 1960.
