CollectA’s detailed replica of the Liopleurodon is lifelike down to its scaly skin and protruding teeth. The carnivorous reptile lived in the Middle Jurassic Period, about 160 – 155 million years ago. The first specimens were three teeth found in 1873. Fossil specimens have been found in England, France and Germany. The Liopleurodon had four paddle-like flippers, indicating it was a powerful swimmer. The largest known skull of the creature is 5.1 feet long and some scientists believe the Liopleurodon could have been between 23 – 34 feet in length. This beautifully sculpted, collectible figure from our Prehistoric Life Collection measures 7.1”L x 1.2”H. Each prehistoric figure in our collection has been approved by archeologist Anthony Beeson, a well-respected expert in paleoimagery.
